In a moving tribute, the Bangladesh Embassy in Rome observed July Mass Uprising Day, marking the sacrifices of the martyrs and reaffirming the nation's commitment to democracy, justice, and national progress. The event, held on August 6, 2026, began with a one-minute silence in honor of the martyrs of the July-August Mass Uprising and all democratic movements in Bangladesh.

Messages from high-ranking officials, including the President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister, were read aloud. The program also featured a documentary on the July Mass Uprising, produced by the Department of Films and Publications. The event was attended by a diverse audience, including Italian nationals, members of the Bangladeshi diaspora, representatives from social and cultural organizations, and members of the media.

A discussion titled 'The Spirit of the July Mass Uprising and Building a Prosperous Bangladesh under the Bangladesh First Policy' was held, featuring participation from members of the Bangladeshi community in Italy. The discussion highlighted the contributions of students, teachers, workers, and people from all walks of life to the July-August Mass Uprising and expressed support for the government's efforts to build a prosperous Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Ambassador to Italy Rakibul Haque paid tribute to the martyrs, emphasizing the government's dedication to building a democratic, equitable, and just Bangladesh. He highlighted the contributions of Bangladeshi expatriates during the July-August Mass Uprising and urged all Bangladeshis to uphold the spirit of the uprising, prioritizing national interests and supporting the government's initiatives.

The ambassador called on all Bangladeshis to contribute to the nation's progress and emphasized the importance of unity and dedication to the ideals of democracy and justice. The event concluded with a pledge from all participants to support the current government's efforts to create a just and self-reliant Bangladesh.
