In Rajshahi, the solemn observance of July Mass Uprising Day on August 5, 2026, paid tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs with a series of dignified ceremonies. The day was marked by the laying of wreaths, special prayers, and moments of reflection to honor those who lost their lives in the July uprising.
Official Tributes and Commitments
Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu, accompanied by various officials and family members of the martyrs, led the tribute at the July Shaheed Memorial at C&B Crossing. The event saw special prayers and munajat offered for the eternal peace of the martyrs, the recovery of the injured, and the nation's ongoing peace and prosperity.
During his speech, Minister Minu reaffirmed the government's commitment to support the families of the martyrs and the injured, emphasizing long-term rehabilitation and financial security as key priorities.
Md Mainul Haque, the father of martyr Shakib Anjum, called for swift justice, urging that those responsible for his son's death be held accountable without delay.
Community-wide Observance
The day's events were not limited to official participation. People from diverse backgrounds, including political, social, cultural, and professional organizations, joined in paying their respects by placing wreaths at the memorial throughout the day.
