Taskin Ahmed and Ebadot Hossain Inspire Fast Bowlers at Nationwide Talent Hunt Launch

Bangladesh fast bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Ebadot Hossain urged aspiring fast bowlers to bowl with pace while maintaining accuracy during the launch of the nationwide Robi Bowler Hunt programme. The initiative, jointly organized by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Robi Axiata PLC, aims to identify and develop fast-bowling talent across the country. The program was officially inaugurated at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, with BCB President Tamim Iqbal, Taskin Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain, and Robi Axiata PLC CEO Ziad Shatara in attendance.

Ebadot's Journey and Advice

Ebadot Hossain, who rose to prominence through a similar pace-hunting programme in 2016, credited the initiative for his successful cricket career. 'I would like to thank Robi and the BCB. They gave me an opportunity through a programme like this in 2016. That is why I am standing here today and representing Bangladesh,' Ebadot said. He recalled his experience, noting the nervousness he felt attending the programme after travelling from Faridpur. 'I was very nervous at that time. It was a winter morning. I came from Faridpur. Imran Sarwar Sir gave me the opportunity to bowl. I bowled fast and finished first in the Robi Pace Hunt in 2016,' he added.

Taskin's Tips for Aspiring Pacers

Taskin Ahmed emphasized the importance of bowling fast while maintaining accuracy. 'As it is a bowling hunt, expert coaches will be there to assess the bowlers. Our national team players will also go there. I want the pacers to try to bowl fast,' Taskin said. He also advised participants to practice yorkers, suggesting it could help them generate greater pace. 'Another tip is to try yorkers, as that will help increase the speed. Both pace and line and length are important. I want them to bowl fast so that we can find a quick bowler like Ebadot,' Taskin added.

Why This Matters for Bangladesh

The Robi Bowler Hunt is a crucial initiative for Bangladesh cricket, aiming to unearth and nurture fast-bowling talent. With the national team constantly seeking to strengthen its pace attack, this programme provides a structured pathway for young bowlers to showcase their skills and potentially earn a place in the national setup. The involvement of national team players and expert coaches ensures that participants receive top-notch guidance and evaluation, enhancing their chances of success in the competitive world of cricket.
