Despite Miraz's efforts, Guyana suffered their first defeat in the tournament, highlighting the unpredictable nature of T20 cricket.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been a standout performer for Guyana Amazon Warriors in the CPL. In this match, he scored 18 runs, the third-highest score for his team, and took 2 wickets for 25 runs with the ball. His consistent performance with both bat and ball has made him a key player for Guyana. Miraz has taken nine wickets in three matches so far in the tournament, showcasing his all-round abilities.
Batting Collapse and Barbados' Chase
Sent in to bat after losing the toss, Guyana Amazon Warriors were reduced to 15 for three inside the third over. Miraz joined Glenn Phillips in an attempt to steady the innings, but their partnership added only 23 runs before Phillips was dismissed for 24 - the highest individual score of Guyana's innings. Miraz contributed 18 runs from 24 balls, including one four and one six, finishing as the team's third-highest scorer. Lower-order batters Romario Shepherd and Imran Tahir added 31 runs for the final wicket partnership, but Guyana were eventually bowled out for just 99 in 18.1 overs.
Defending a modest total, Miraz gave Guyana an early breakthrough by removing Quinton de Kock in the final over of the powerplay, breaking his off-stump with his off-spin before taking out Shadrack Descarte as his second victim, as the batter was removed for 32 in the 12th over. However, Barbados had already gained control of the chase by then. Brandon King remained unbeaten on 44 to guide his team home as Barbados reached 100 for four in 14.5 overs.
Despite the loss, Guyana Amazon Warriors remain at the top of the point table. They will take on Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the first Qualifier on September 18, for a direct place in the final.
