The PRAN-RFL Group, one of Bangladesh's leading industrial conglomerates, has inaugurated a Zero Discharge Plant at its Habiganj Industrial Park. The plant, located in Shayestaganj's Olipur area of Habiganj district, was officially launched by Dr. Md. Lutfor Rahman, Director General of the Department of Environment (DoE). This initiative underscores the company's commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable industrial development.

Dr. Lutfor Rahman emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts between the government and the private sector to protect the environment. He highlighted that industries should adopt environmentally friendly technologies, such as zero-discharge plants, to move towards sustainable production. "We must work together through coordinated efforts between the government and the private sector to protect our environment. Only then can we build a Greener Bangladesh," he said.

Kamruzzaman Kamal, Marketing Director at PRAN-RFL Group, spoke about the company's ongoing initiatives to protect the environment and ensure efficient resource use. "The establishment of the Zero Discharge Plant is a continuation of these efforts. Reducing water consumption through water reuse and minimizing the environmental impact of industrial wastewater are the main objectives of this initiative," Kamal explained.

The Zero Discharge Plant aims to treat and reuse water used in the company's factories, significantly reducing the discharge of liquid waste into the environment. Kamal added that PRAN-RFL Group will continue to adopt effective technologies and innovative solutions in areas including environmentally responsible production, waste management, water conservation and reuse, and sustainable industrialization.

The DoE delegation, including Director of Sylhet Divisional Office Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Deputy Director (Monitoring and Enforcement) Sabrin Sultana, Deputy Director (EIA) Md. Samsuzzaman Sarker, and Deputy Director of DoE Habiganj District Office Md. Yusuf Ali, visited PRAN-RFL Group's recycling plant and various production facilities at the Habiganj Industrial Park. High officials at PRAN-RFL Group and Chief Plant Officer at Habiganj Industrial Park Dipak Kumar Dev were also present at the event.

The inauguration of the Zero Discharge Plant is a significant step towards sustainable industrial practices in Bangladesh. By adopting advanced wastewater treatment technologies, PRAN-RFL Group aims to set a positive example for other industries, promoting a greener and more sustainable future for the nation.
