In a bid to ensure a seamless experience for Bangladeshi pilgrims, Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Houssain Kaikobad has urged all stakeholders to collaborate effectively in managing the 2027 Hajj operations. Speaking at a meeting held at the Bangladesh Secretariat, the minister stressed the importance of diligence and coordination among government officials and private Hajj agencies to prevent any form of maltreatment or difficulties faced by pilgrims.

The meeting, organized to discuss relevant activities including the allocation of Hajj pilgrim quotas among 30 alliances and lead agencies, highlighted the necessity for strict compliance with Saudi Arabian rules and regulations. Minister Kaikobad emphasized that the majority of the registered Hajj quota for 2027 will be managed through private Hajj agencies, necessitating robust support from concerned officials to facilitate their work.

Addressing the private Hajj agencies, Kaikobad underscored the need for them to fulfill their responsibilities adequately. He urged that in case of any mistakes or shortcomings, the focus should be on resolving issues promptly rather than placing blame. The minister also warned of strict action against any form of unnecessary bureaucracy or harassment faced by pilgrims.

State Minister for Religious Affairs Mohammad Shamim Kaiser revealed that according to the preliminary allocation determined by the Saudi government, Bangladesh’s Hajj quota currently stands at 78,500 pilgrims. This announcement comes as a crucial piece of information for the planning and preparation of the upcoming Hajj season.

The Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam, is a mandatory religious duty for all able-bodied Muslims who can afford to make the journey at least once in their lifetime. The smooth operation of Hajj services is of paramount importance to ensure the spiritual and physical well-being of pilgrims. With the 2027 operations on the horizon, the collaborative efforts of both government and private sectors are vital to uphold the dignity and comfort of the pilgrims throughout their sacred journey.
