On August 5, 2026, Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) commemorated the July Mass Uprising Day with a series of events that highlighted the significance of the historical uprising. The day was marked by a rally, tree plantation, painting and essay competitions, and a special munajat (prayer) held at the university's central Jame Mosque.

Commemorative Events

The day commenced with a victory rally that started from in front of the administrative building and circled the campus before concluding at the same location. Following the rally, participants engaged in tree plantation activities on the university premises. Simultaneously, a painting competition was organized in Room No. 217 of the administrative building, where children of university teachers, officers, employees, and students took part.

Additionally, an essay competition titled ‘Bangladesh after the July Mass Uprising’ was organized for the students. The deadline for submitting essays was set for 5 pm on August 8. A special munajat was conducted after Zuhr prayers at the university's central Jame Mosque, honoring those injured and martyred in the July Mass Uprising. The event was attended by RUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. S. M. Abdur Razzak, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain, Deans, Departmental Heads, Director of Student Welfare Professor Dr. Md. Rabiul Islam Sarker, Directors of various offices, Deans of various faculties, departmental heads, officials, employees, and students.
