The Bangladesh Army University of Engineering & Technology (BAUET) held a series of commemorative programs on August 5, 2026, to observe 'July Mass Uprising Day 2026'. The event aimed to remember the July Anti-Discrimination Movement and the individuals who lost their lives during that period.
Leadership and Key Addresses
Brigadier General S M Lutfor Rahman, Vice Chancellor of BAUET, attended the event as the chief guest. In his address, Lutfor Rahman emphasized the importance of fulfilling responsibilities with dedication and the necessity of preserving the history of the July fighters for future generations. He also expressed hope that the initiatives of the current government would achieve their objectives.
Several prominent figures from the university spoke at the event, including BAUET Treasurer Colonel Md. Shawkat Hossain (Retd.), Dean of the Faculty of Science and Humanities and the Faculty of Law Professor Dr Md Sazzad Hossain, and other faculty members and students.
The commemorative activities also included a special dua offered at the university's Central Jame Mosque, which sought peace for the departed souls of the July martyrs, good health for the fighters, and continued progress for the nation.
