HSC Alumni Association Reunion Registration Begins at Rajshahi's NGDC

Registration activities for the reunion of the HSC Alumni Association of New Government Degree College (NGDC) in Rajshahi were inaugurated today.

RAJSHAHI, Aug 29, 2026 – Registration activities for the reunion of the HSC Alumni Association of New Government Degree College (NGDC) in Rajshahi were inaugurated today. The event was marked by a ceremony held at the college auditorium, with Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu, MP, as the chief guest. The registration drive aims to bring together former students, strengthen their communication, and contribute to the college's development and the welfare of its students.

Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton attended as a special guest and delivered a speech at the event. The programme was presided over by Advocate Mohammad Shafiqul Haque Milon, MP, chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Water Resources and chief patron of the NGDC HSC Alumni Association.

Several distinguished guests were present, including Rajshahi University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Faridul Islam, Rajshahi Zila Parishad Administrator Advocate Ershad Ali Isha, and Rajshahi Development Authority Chairman Abul Kalam Azad Sweet. Former Rajshahi College Principal Professor Habibur Rahman, former NGDC Principal Professor SM Zargis Qadir, and first-batch alumnus Shahed Uddin Mondol also spoke at the programme.

NGDC Principal and Alumni Association Convener Professor Dr Shikha Sarker delivered the welcome address. The event saw the participation of heads of departments, teachers, former and current students, and members of the Alumni Association.

The speakers highlighted the significant role NGDC has played in the educational and cultural heritage of Rajshahi. They emphasized that the Alumni Association would serve as a vital platform for former students to reconnect, share experiences, and contribute to the college's progress.

Former students were urged to join the association and complete their registration. The initiative is expected to foster a sense of community among alumni, enabling them to support current students and enhance the college's reputation and resources.

This reunion drive is a testament to the enduring legacy of NGDC and its impact on the educational landscape of Rajshahi. By fostering connections among alumni, the college aims to create a supportive network that benefits both past and present students.
