Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu, MP, emphasized the critical role of improved communication systems in expanding business and trade, speaking at the inauguration of the Ratnai Bridge in Lalmonirhat.

Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu, MP, has highlighted the essential role of improved communication systems in expanding business and trade and accelerating economic development. Speaking at the inauguration of the newly constructed 130.85-metre pre-stressed concrete (PC) girder Ratnai Bridge on the Lalmonirhat-Phulbari road, Dulu underscored the importance of better infrastructure for commerce. "There is no alternative to improving the communication system for the development of commerce, business and trade," he said.

Significance of Improved Infrastructure

The Ratnai Bridge, constructed at a cost of [verifyFlags: "construction cost"], is expected to alleviate the long-standing transportation challenges faced by the local populace. By reducing travel time and transportation costs, the bridge will facilitate the movement of goods, thereby boosting trade in the region. Dulu noted that the bridge is not merely a physical structure but a vital link for better communication and economic integration.

Call for Community Engagement

During his address, Dulu urged the community to help maintain the communication network and make proper use of the new bridge. He emphasized the collective responsibility in ensuring the longevity and effectiveness of such infrastructure projects. "After a long wait, a bridge has been built here. It is not just a bridge; it is an important link for better communication," he said.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by several key figures, including Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Rashedul Haque Pradhan, District Council Administrator AKM Mominul Haque, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mononita Das, and Roads and Highways Department Executive Engineer Debashish Saha. Leaders from different political parties, representatives of various professions, and journalists were also present, highlighting the bridge's significance for the community.

Following the inauguration, the minister inspected the river adjacent to Kulaghat Bazar in Lalmonirhat Sadar upazila, further emphasizing the government's commitment to improving regional connectivity and infrastructure. The successful completion and inauguration of the Ratnai Bridge signify a step forward in enhancing the region's economic prospects through better communication systems.
