Comprehensive Plan for Khulshi Railway Overpass Construction
A detailed presentation was held regarding the Khulshi Railway Overpass Construction project. The presentation, attended by Chief Engineer Anisur Rahman and other engineers, discussed the project's feasibility, technical specifications, costs, public service implications, and future benefits. The current overpass, built 45 years ago, is in a hazardous state due to concrete erosion, rod rust, and surface cracking, posing significant safety risks, especially for heavy cargo trucks passing daily.
Safety and Modernization Initiatives
Three strategies were proposed to address the existing overpass's issues: reinforcement and modernization. These strategies aim to increase the load capacity of the pillars by 45 percent and extend the overpass's lifespan by 30 years at a minimal cost. After reviewing the plan, Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain directed the relevant parties to confirm the project's implementation.
