On August 4, 2026, a discussion and cultural program titled 'July in Songs' was held in Rajshahi to honor the heroism and sacrifices of the 2024 July Mass Uprising. Organized by the Rajshahi District Shilpakala Academy with the support of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the event featured a series of speeches and performances aimed at highlighting the uprising's significance.

Key Highlights of the Event

The program, held at the Shilpakala Academy auditorium, was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Belayet Hossain, who emphasized that the July Mass Uprising symbolizes people's rights, justice, and democratic aspirations. Dr. Farukur Rahman Faisal, the District Cultural Officer, stressed that culture and music are vital in conveying this history to the younger generation.

Harendranath Singh, Director of the Rajshahi Divisional Ethnic Minority Cultural Academy, highlighted the role of art and culture in awakening human consciousness and building a humane, non-communal, and prosperous Bangladesh. Aranya Kusum, Joint Convener of Rajshahi District Jubo Dal, called for collective efforts to build the nation the martyrs envisioned. Selim Reza, Member Secretary of JASAS Rajshahi Metropolitan, advocated for passing on the history of the July Uprising through songs and cultural activities.

Following the speeches, local artists performed patriotic songs inspired by the July Uprising. The event drew representatives from various cultural organizations, artists, students, journalists, and cultural enthusiasts.
