Tribute and Remembrance
The program started with a minute of silence at the embassy’s conference room, a poignant tribute to the martyrs who lost their lives or were injured during the uprising. Messages from President, Prime Minister, and other officials were read aloud, marking the significance of the day.
National Unity and Economic Contributions
Ambassador Daud Ali emphasized the need for state rehabilitation for the families of those affected by the uprising and highlighted the importance of a democratic, justice-based society. He praised the contributions of expatriate Bangladeshis, noting their role in boosting the national economy through remittances.
The ambassador noted that expatriates had helped increase Bangladesh's foreign exchange reserves from $18 billion to $36 billion, urging continued support through official banking channels.
Future of Bangladesh
The ambassador also highlighted the Probashi Card initiative to facilitate access to public services for expatriates, reiterating the government’s commitment to their welfare.
The event concluded with a special prayer for the martyrs and for the continued peace and prosperity of Bangladesh.
