The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry plans to establish 57 sub-committees to address regional business challenges and promote trade and investment.

In an effort to better address the multifaceted challenges and opportunities in business, trade, and investment within Chattogram, the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) has announced the formation of 57 sub-committees. These sub-committees aim to involve chamber members in identifying issues and determining necessary measures to enhance the business environment in the region.

Sub-Committees to Cover Diverse Sectors

The newly established sub-committees will cover a wide range of sectors including LMD, Finance and Banking, Insurance, Port, Shipping, Importers, Exporters, Policy Advocacy, Labour, Lighterage and Inland Water Transport, Food Grain, Salt and Spices, Edible/Cooking Oil, Industrialists, Building Materials, Taxation, Jute, Textile, Small and Cottage Industries, Transport and Communication, Internal Trade, Women Entrepreneurship, Tourism and Hospitality, Environment, Energy and Power, Infrastructure Development, ICT, Research and Development, Poultry, Fisheries, Horticulture, AI, Startup, Sick Industry, Cost of Doing Business, Ease of Doing Business, WTO and Industrial Skill Development. Other sectors include Decentralization and Administrative Reforms, Remittance, External Business Shock, Investment Promotion, Backward and Forward Linkage, International/Bilateral Trade, Plastic Industry, Printing and Packaging Industries, Hotel and Restaurant, Market and Shopping Mall, Bakery and Confectionery, Light Engineering, Green Energy and Carbon Control, Hospital and Diagnostic Center, Leather and Leather Goods, Roads and Highways, Steel and Allied Sector, Cement, and Garments Accessories.

Call for Member Participation

Interested chamber members have been invited to submit their names for inclusion in their preferred sub-committees by August 15, 2026. The chamber encourages participation from businesspeople and entrepreneurs across different sectors to ensure a comprehensive approach to identifying and addressing regional business challenges.

Leadership Vision

Chattogram Chamber President Mohammad Amirul Haque emphasized the importance of grassroots opinions in identifying problems, challenges, and prospects for business, trade, and investment. 'We want to give importance to grassroots opinions in identifying the multifaceted problems, challenges, and prospects of business, trade, and investment in this region and determining the necessary measures,' Haque said. 'We hope these sub-committees will play an important role in establishing an inclusive and effective chamber.'
