Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited Fatikchhari, where he met Allama Shah Muhibullah Babunagari, the Ameer of Hefazat Islam, on August 9, 2026. During the meeting at Al-Jamiatul Islamia Azizul Ulum Babunagar Madrasah, the Prime Minister inquired about Allama Babunagari's health and participated in a views-exchange meeting. Several high-ranking officials, including Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, accompanied the Prime Minister.

Upon his arrival at the madrasah, students lined the road to welcome the Prime Minister, who took the opportunity to greet them. The meeting was chaired by Allama Muhibullah Babunagari, who also serves as the principal of the madrasah. The session covered various topics, including madrasah affairs and community well-being.

Accompanying the Prime Minister were several key figures, including Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, State Minister for Land and Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs Mir Mohammed Helal Uddin, and State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Aninda Islam Amit.
