During the initial eight days of August, the country received $915 million in remittances, reflecting a 42.9% increase from the $640 million recorded during the same period last year.

Remittances Reach New Heights

The latest data reveals that Bangladeshis working abroad sent home $313 million between August 6 and August 8. This substantial figure underscores the ongoing strength of earnings from migrant workers, providing vital financial support to their families back home.

From July 1 to August 8 of the current fiscal year, total remittance inflows amounted to $3.773 billion. This represents a 21.0% year-on-year growth compared to the $3.118 billion received during the same period of the previous fiscal year. The data highlights the resilience and continued economic activity of Bangladeshi expatriates.

The significant rise in remittances not only boosts the national economy but also supports millions of families dependent on these funds. As the country navigates through economic challenges, the steady flow of remittances plays a crucial role in maintaining financial stability.
