On August 9, 2026, Begum Rokeya University (BRUR) inaugurated a modern reading room at Shaheed Mukhtar Elahi Hall. The event was officially launched by the university's Vice-chancellor, Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali. The new facility aims to provide a conducive and comfortable study environment for the residential students of the hall.

Enhancing the Academic Environment

Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali emphasized the importance of a healthy and beautiful environment for academic pursuits. He noted that the new reading room is intended to serve the needs of students residing in Shaheed Mukhtar Elahi Hall. By providing a modern space equipped with various facilities, the university aims to attract students to the learning process and encourage them to take responsibility for maintaining the environment.

The Vice-chancellor also highlighted the university's commitment to providing students with the resources necessary for talent development. In his speech, he mentioned ongoing efforts to enrich the university library and increase research opportunities. The presence of university officials and hall residents at the inauguration ceremony underscores the significance of this initiative.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Registrar (Additional Charge) Prof Dr Md Ferdous Rahman, the hall Provost Prof Dr Md Kamruzzaman, and several Assistant Provosts.
