Seven Individuals Arrested for Robbery at Mirsarai Economic Zone Factory

A gang of 10-15 armed robbers targeted an under-construction factory in the Mirsarai Economic Zone, leading to a swift police operation.

In a swift police operation, authorities in Chattogram arrested seven individuals linked to a robbery at an under-construction factory within the Mirsarai Economic Zone. The arrests were made following a 32-hour-long operation that culminated in the recovery of around 250 metres of stolen electric cable.

The incident, which took place on the night of August 8, saw a gang of 10-15 armed robbers enter the premises of Bangladesh Auto Industries Limited. The robbers intimidated security personnel and made off with three mobile phones, approximately 250 metres of electric cable, and other valuable items.

Sub-Inspector Abdullah Al Masud of Jorargonj Police Station led the operation that resulted in the apprehension of the suspects. Based on the information provided by the arrested individuals, police were able to locate and recover the stolen electric cables.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Mehedi Hasan (23), Md. Rakib (21), Sujaul Haque alias Suja Ullah (24), Emdadul Haque alias Emran (28), Mizan Uddin (32), Md. Sakhawat Hossain alias Nahid (24), and Yousuf (26). A formal case has been filed with the Jorargonj Police Station in connection with the incident.

The swift action by the police highlights the commitment to maintaining security within the economic zones. Authorities continue to investigate the identities and roles of the remaining suspects believed to be part of the larger gang.
