In a special operation, Border Guard Bangladesh seized a large consignment of drugs and firearms at the Ghumdhum border.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has successfully intercepted a major smuggling attempt in the Ghumdhum border area of Bandarban, recovering 2.46 lakh yaba tablets, a foreign-made pistol, and five rounds of ammunition. The operation was conducted by the Cox's Bazar Battalion of BGB based on intelligence information.

The operation took place on the night of August 10, 2026, when a team led by Battalion Deputy Commander Major Mehedi Hasan Ashiq identified a group of smugglers. The smugglers fled, leaving behind the contraband. Legal actions are currently being processed.
