In a bid to enhance summer onion production, 1,500 farmers in Jhenaidah received agricultural incentives, including fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides, as part of a government initiative. The distribution took place at the Sadar Upazila Parishad premises, aimed at bolstering the Kharif-2 season's yield. Each farmer was given 20 kilograms of chemical fertilizer, one kilogram of onion seeds, one kilogram of pesticides, and two kilograms of polythene rolls.

Organized by the Sadar Upazila Agriculture Office, the event saw the presence of notable figures such as Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tarek Hasan, who attended as the chief guest, and Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Masud Rana, who presided over the proceedings. Other attendees included representatives from the Jhenaidah Press Club and various agricultural extension officers.

The initiative underscores the government's commitment to supporting local agriculture, particularly in enhancing the production of key crops like summer onions. This move is expected to have a significant impact on the local economy and food security in the region.

By providing essential agricultural inputs free of cost, the government aims to encourage farmers to increase their cultivation efforts, ensuring a steady supply of onions and contributing to the overall agricultural productivity in Bangladesh.
