On August 10, 2026, the nation witnessed the unveiling of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent exam results, marking a significant milestone for thousands of students across the country. With an average pass rate of 62.25%, this year's results show a decrease from the 68.45% recorded last year. A total of 1,16,676 students excelled by securing a GPA-5, a testament to their hard work and dedication.

The announcement was made by Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Hoque Milon during a press conference at the Secretariat. The results are now accessible on the websites of all education boards, through SMS, and at respective educational institutions. This year, a remarkable 18,57,344 students participated in the exams, representing a diverse range of educational boards, including the nine general education boards, the Madrasa Education Board, and the Technical Education Board.

Of the total participants, 9,30,305 were boys, and 9,27,039 were girls. The exams were held at 3,885 centers nationwide, with students from 30,666 educational institutions taking part. The event marked the culmination of months of preparation and effort by students, teachers, and parents alike, reflecting the resilience and determination of the younger generation.

The slight dip in the pass rate from the previous year’s 68.45% to this year’s 62.25% has sparked discussions about the challenges faced by students during the examination period. Despite the overall decrease, the significant number of students achieving a GPA-5 indicates a bright future for many. The results highlight the importance of continuous support and improvement in the education system to ensure better outcomes in the future.

As the results were made public, many families celebrated the achievements of their children, while others focused on the need for additional academic support and resources. The government and educational institutions are now tasked with addressing the factors contributing to the pass rate variation and implementing measures to enhance educational standards.
