In a significant step towards integrating technology with education, Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) has distributed machine readable library cards to 1,235 new students from the 2025 session. The distribution event took place in a vibrant atmosphere at the RUET Central Library, with Professor Nurul Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, leading the initiative. This move aims to provide students with seamless access to the library's extensive collection, which includes approximately 40,000 printed books and a plethora of digital resources.
The machine readable library cards will enable students to access not only the printed books but also an array of digital resources such as e-books, journals, conference papers, and more. The library boasts a collection of 7,367,774 search items, spanning 197 titles, offering students a comprehensive learning experience. This technological advancement is expected to play a crucial role in the academic and professional growth of the students, providing them with the necessary tools to excel in their fields.
