On August 4, 2026, Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) hosted its 57th meeting of the Committee for Advanced Studies and Research (CASR). Held in the Vice-Chancellor's conference room, the meeting was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. S M Abdur Razzak. The session, organized by RUET's Research and Extension Department, brought together key academic leaders to explore ways to enhance research quality.

Attendees included the Deans of various faculties and Heads of Departments from RUET, who presented specific proposals aimed at improving research standards. The meeting was moderated by Professor Dr. Abdul Khalek, the Member-Secretary of the CASR Committee and Director of the Research and Extension Department.

Also in attendance were several distinguished academics from other institutions. Professor Dr. Mohammad Ali from BUET’s Mechanical Department and Professor Dr. Md. Roknuzzaman from North South University were among those contributing to the discussion. The presence of these external experts underscored the collaborative spirit of the meeting.

The committee members emphasized the importance of integrating advanced research methodologies and fostering interdisciplinary collaborations. They also highlighted the need for increased funding and resources to support ongoing and future research projects.

The meeting concluded with a series of actionable steps, including the formation of working groups to develop detailed action plans. These groups will be tasked with monitoring progress and reporting back to the CASR Committee in subsequent meetings.

This gathering marks a significant step forward in RUET’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation in research, reflecting the university’s broader mission to contribute meaningfully to technological and scientific advancements.
