BRUR Organizes Virtual Seminar to Enhance Research Quality in Faculty of Sciences

On August 3, 2026, Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) hosted its second seminar for the departments within the Faculty of Sciences under a dedicated research project. The event aimed to foster an environment of academic excellence and collaboration in research.

Leadership Emphasizes Research Importance

The seminar was organized by BRUR's Research and Extension Office in the virtual classroom of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali, the Vice-chancellor of BRUR, delivered a keynote address as the chief guest. He highlighted the importance of research and the need for continuous improvement in the university's research output.

Professor Ali emphasized that the university is expanding the scope of its research activities to ensure that researchers can complete their work efficiently and effectively. He also stressed the importance of maintaining up-to-date profiles and publications of faculty members on the university's website to improve its global ranking.

Engagement with External Experts

The seminar was chaired by Professor Dr Md Elias Pramanik, Director of the Department of Research and Extension at BRUR. Distinguished guests included Professor Dr Bijon Mohan Chaki, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences at BRUR, and Dr Md Azhar Ali, a Professor from the Department of Chemistry at Rajshahi University. Several professors from various universities across the country participated as external experts, providing valuable insights and recommendations on the research proposals presented.

Faculty members from different departments within the Faculty of Sciences at BRUR attended the seminar. They presented the progress and future plans of their respective research projects. The seminar discussed various strategies to enhance the effectiveness and timeliness of ongoing research activities.

The seminar underscored BRUR's commitment to advancing research quality and fostering a collaborative academic environment. By engaging with external experts and highlighting the importance of research, BRUR aims to improve its standing in global academic rankings.
