This year, the Sylhet Education Board has recorded a 58.33% pass rate in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations. Out of the 89,421 students who took the exam, 51,957 passed, marking a 10.24% decrease compared to last year. Girls outperformed boys, both in the pass rate and in achieving the highest GPA-5. Notably, 3,836 students secured a GPA-5, showing a slight increase from last year. The results were announced by Controller of Examinations Professor Bilkis Yasmin.
A total of 973 educational institutions under the Sylhet Education Board participated in the exam, with 53,891 female and 35,530 male candidates. The district-wise statistics revealed that Sunamganj topped in terms of the pass rate, while Moulvibazar led in the number of students achieving a GPA-5.
The pass rate for this year represents a slight decline from the previous year, indicating a challenging academic environment. Despite the decrease, the increase in students achieving a GPA-5 suggests improved performance in certain areas.
