A tragic road accident claimed the life of a 55-year-old man in Gopalganj, highlighting ongoing safety concerns for pedestrians in rural areas.

A pedestrian was tragically killed after being struck by a motorcycle in Gopalganj district today. Jabed Ali Sheikh, 55, from Lararkul village in Bagerhat, was crossing a road in Tungipara upazila when the accident occurred. Local residents reported that Sheikh was hit near Nilfa Bazar and was rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Incident Details

The incident happened in the early morning, when Sheikh was crossing the road. Eyewitnesses stated that the motorcycle collided with him, causing severe injuries. He was quickly transported to the Gopalganj 250-Bed General Hospital, but medical efforts were unsuccessful.

The Officer-in-Charge of Tungipara Police Station, Ayub Ali, confirmed the accident and the subsequent death of the pedestrian. The local community expressed sorrow over the loss and called for increased safety measures on the roads.
