The Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury has announced measures to quickly bring back the bodies of five youths from Kanaighat Upazila in Sylhet who died in a road accident in Qatar. In a press release on Sunday evening, the Minister's Media Cell informed that all necessary arrangements are being made through the Bangladesh Embassy in Qatar to repatriate the bodies and provide necessary assistance to the families.
In a message of condolence, Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury expressed deep sorrow over the sudden and tragic deaths of the expatriates, referring to them as'remittance warriors' who contributed to the country's economy. He prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased and expressed his condolences to the bereaved families. The five youths died in a road accident in the Shahaniya area of Qatar on Sunday morning. Their families learned of the incident around noon.
According to Abdul Latif, a member of the Jhingabari Union Parishad in Kanaighat Upazila, the deceased expatriates are Mostak Ahmad (30), son of Salim Ullah from Majhtaluk village, Jubayer Ahmad (30), son of the late Ahsan Ullah from the same village, Jasim Uddin (30), son of Siraj Uddin from Agataluk village, Jibal Ahmad (36), son of Abdun Nur from Amarpur village, and Qadir Ahmad (24), son of Bahar Uddin from Gachhbari Nayagram in Dakshinbanigram Union. The five were traveling to their workplace in a pickup van when the vehicle lost control, resulting in their deaths at the scene. Their bodies have been kept in the morgue of a local hospital in Qatar.
