Bidyaniketan's Festive Result Day: Celebrating Education, Tradition, and Environmental Stewardship

A unique Rajshahi school funded by traditional Nakshi Kantha stitching celebrated exam results with cultural dance, tree planting, and a message of environmental stewardship.

In a vibrant blend of education, culture, and environmental stewardship, Shishu Provat Bidyaniketan in Rajshahi's Bhugrail Christianpara celebrated the publication of examination results with a festive atmosphere. The event, held on the school premises, featured the traditional Orang dance of the indigenous community, symbolizing their lifestyle, culture, and deep love for nature.

Cultural Celebration and Results Publication

The celebration was marked by the presence of Advocate Shafiqul Haque Milon, MP, who served as the chief guest. He distributed the examination results to the students, congratulated the top performers, and emphasized the importance of environmental conservation. Each student received a sapling, with the responsibility to nurture it, reinforcing the school's commitment to instilling a sense of responsibility for nature in its students.

Nakshi Kantha and Self-Reliance

Shishu Provat Bidyaniketan stands out as a self-reliant educational institution, funded by the income generated from each stitch of Nakshi Kantha made by Santal women associated with the school. This unique funding model not only supports the school's operations but also empowers the women involved, creating a harmonious blend of education and economic empowerment. The school currently educates children from indigenous, Bengali Muslim, and Hindu communities, fostering an environment of harmony and self-reliance.

Sumi Murmu, Chairman of Nari O Shishu Kalyan Sangstha and founding director of Shishu Provat Bidyaniketan, highlighted the school's mission to provide not just academic education but also education in humanity, harmony, and environmental awareness. She stressed the importance of community cooperation in sustaining and expanding this exemplary model of education.
