Aryna Sabalenka, the world number one, demonstrated her formidable prowess by defeating China's Wang Xinyu 6-1, 6-3 in a swift 54 minutes at the ATP-WTA Cincinnati Masters. This victory extends Sabalenka's winning streak to 45 matches at the Masters 1000 level, showcasing her dominance in the tournament.

Sabalenka's Dominant Performance

Sabalenka's performance was nothing short of spectacular. She took only 20 minutes to clinch the first set, breaking Wang's serve early in the second set to maintain her momentum. Wang's double fault on Sabalenka's first match point sealed the top seed's victory.

Post-match, Sabalenka expressed her satisfaction with the win. 'I cannot complain. She's a tough opponent. To win in straight sets like this in under an hour is insane. I'm super happy to be through. I really trusted myself and went for my shots. I wasn't over-thinking. I was able to stay focused and be in every point,' she said.

Other Notable Matches

In other matches, Coco Gauff, the fourth seed, overcame a tough challenge from fellow American Ann Li, winning 6-1, 7-6 (7/3). Gauff had to adjust to the conditions and her opponent's improved play in the second set.

Mirra Andreeva, the fifth seed and French Open reigning champion, struggled but managed to secure a 6-1, 7-6 (7/5) victory over Janice Tjen. Andreeva acknowledged the mental and physical battle that ensued after a commanding first set.

Felix Auger-Aliassime, Canada's second seed, defeated Juan Manuel Cerundolo of Argentina 7-5, 6-1, while Taylor Fritz, the Washington winner and fifth seed, advanced with an 83-minute win over Daniel Merida. Fritz will face Chris O'Connell in the next round.

Brandon Nakashima staged a remarkable comeback to upset fourth seed Daniil Medvedev 6-7 (3/7), 7-6 (7/4), 6-1, saving match points along the way. Lorenzo Musetti and Nuno Borges also secured their spots in the fourth round with respective wins over Michael Zheng and Andrey Rublev.
