In a heartfelt message posted on his verified Facebook account, Dr. Mahdi Amin, Prime Minister's Adviser, commemorated the second anniversary of the July Uprising on August 5, 2024, which marked a pivotal moment in the fight against the long-standing fascist regime. Amin underscored the necessity of strengthening national unity, regardless of differing opinions, to safeguard the nation against the threat of fascism.

Amin praised the historic mass uprising that occurred on August 5, 2024, a direct continuation of the heroic struggles against over a decade and a half of fascist misrule. He credited the success of this uprising to the sacrifices made by students and the people, as well as the leadership and guidance of Begum Khaleda Zia, then Acting Chairman and now Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

During his speech, Amin highlighted the significant role of the country's largest political party and the unity achieved under the banner of 'Fascism vs. Bangladesh.' He stressed the importance of maintaining this unity to prevent the re-emergence of fascism, urging all citizens to avoid unnecessary divisions and accommodate differing opinions with wisdom and positivity.

Amin's call for unity comes as a reminder of the collective efforts that led to the downfall of the fascist regime. The uprising, which began more than a decade and a half ago, was characterized by unparalleled sacrifices and relentless struggles by BNP leaders and activists. The movement culminated in the successful conclusion under the leadership of Tarique Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia.

Reflecting on the significance of the uprising, Amin emphasized that while debates and constructive criticism are part of any political discourse, it is crucial to avoid indecent behavior and focus on broader national unity. He concluded by stating that the demand of the time is to maintain a cohesive front against the specter of fascism.

The message from Amin comes at a critical time, as the nation continues to grapple with the legacy of the fascist regime and the ongoing efforts to build a unified and resilient society.
