In a move to curb unauthorized healthcare services, Tangail's health authorities sealed three private clinics and fined a hospital Taka 155,000. The operation was part of a broader initiative to ensure that healthcare facilities comply with government regulations. The sealed clinics include City Hospital, Tangail Clinic, Teachers Hospital, and Makkah-Madinah Eye Hospital, all found to be operating without valid government approval. Khidmah Specialized Hospital was fined for licensing and regulatory compliance deficiencies.
Led by Tangail Civil Surgeon Dr. F.M. Mahbubul Alam and Executive Magistrate Mosammat Farhana Arefin Jui, the operation targeted several private clinics and hospitals across the district. Dr. Alam highlighted that while Tangail district hosts over 600 private clinics and hospitals, only 104 are properly licensed, underscoring the urgent need for stricter regulatory oversight.
The enforcement action aims to ensure that all healthcare facilities in Tangail adhere to government standards, safeguarding public health and preventing the spread of unregulated medical services. This crackdown reflects the government's commitment to maintaining high healthcare standards across the district.
