EWBI and Daffodil University Host Joint Workshop on Enhancing University Teacher Skills

A two-day international workshop on enhancing university teaching and research skills was held by Educators Without Borders International (EWBI) and Daffodil International University.

Educators Without Borders International (EWBI) and Daffodil International University's Human Resource Development Institute (HRDI) jointly organized a two-day international workshop titled 'Essentials of University Academics in Contemporary World: Building Teaching Capability and Developing Research Skills' on May 18-19, 2026, at Daffodil Plaza. The workshop aimed to enhance teaching, research skills, and academic capabilities of university-level educators. Participants included 82 teachers and academics from 16 public and private universities in Dhaka and Chittagong, along with experts from Australia, Malaysia, and Bangladesh.

The workshop covered modern teaching methods, curriculum development, research design, academic writing, publication strategies, and global research collaboration. Notable speakers included Emeritus Professor Shahjahan Khan (Order of Australia Medal recipient), Professor Dato Mohammad Fauzan Nordin (International Islamic University Malaysia), Professor Yarul Kabir (Jashore University of Science and Technology), and Professor Shamsuddin Ahmed (Military Institute of Science and Technology).

The speakers emphasized the need for university teachers to acquire skills beyond teaching, including research, innovation, international collaboration, and leadership in building a knowledge-based society. The workshop highlighted the importance of fostering a strong research culture and adopting student-centric, outcome-based, and technology-driven teaching methods in higher education institutions.
