Tonight, a 27-member skating contingent from Bangladesh will leave for China, targeting medals at the Asian Cup Skate Track Series Club Championship in Lishui from August 10-12. The team comprises thirteen male and nine female skaters, ready to face fierce competition from China, South Korea, Iran, Russia, and Chinese Taipei. Despite the challenging lineup, the team's morale remains high following their impressive performance in last year's competition, where they secured two gold and two bronze medals.
Leading the team is Nabiyun Islam, who made history last year by winning gold in the men's 500m speed race and 1,000m sprint events. The athletes were officially seen off by Zahed Parvez Chowdhury, Director (Sports) of the National Sports Council (NSC), in a floral reception at the NSC headquarters. Present at the event were also Dr. Kamruzzaman Kaiser, president of the Bangladesh Skating Federation, and other sports federation officials.
