According to Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ulipur Police Station Sayed Ibn Siddique, Abu Sayeed came into contact with a live electric current after touching an electrical board at around 2:30 pm. Seeing him convulsing, his wife rushed to rescue him but was also electrocuted in the process. Abu Sayeed died on the spot, while Rabeya Begum succumbed to her injuries shortly afterward.
