In a tragic incident, an elderly couple in Kurigram district was electrocuted today. The deceased have been identified as Abu Sayeed, 68, and his wife, Rabeya Begum, 60, residents of Baldipara village under Ulipur Paurasava. According to Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ulipur Police Station Sayed Ibn Siddique, Abu Sayeed came into contact with a live electric current after touching an electrical board at around 2:30 pm. Seeing him convulsing, his wife rushed to rescue him but was also electrocuted in the process. Abu Sayeed died on the spot, while Rabeya Begum succumbed to her injuries shortly afterward.

The incident occurred when Abu Sayeed accidentally touched a live electrical board. Without any safety precautions, Rabeya Begum attempted to pull him away, resulting in both of them being electrocuted. The couple was rushed to a nearby hospital, but they could not be saved.
