In a significant operation, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) intercepted a large consignment of smuggled Indian medicines in Sherpur. Acting on a tip-off, a BGB patrol team seized the medicines from the Panihata border area in Nalitabari upazila. The estimated market value of the seized medicines is Taka 81,20,800.

According to a press release from the Mymensingh Battalion (BGB-39), the smugglers abandoned the consignment upon sensing the presence of BGB personnel. The consignment was later recovered from an abandoned location. Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Nurul Amin Bayezid, Commanding Officer of Mymensingh Battalion, confirmed the value of the seized medicines.
