In a coordinated effort, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) seized a consignment of Indian cosmetics and medicines in Sylhet, Bangladesh. The contraband, worth over Tk 30.32 lakh, included 1,536 pieces of Ponds Face Wash and 6,250 pieces of Clop-G Cream, along with an abandoned mini covered van, as reported by law enforcement authorities.
Operation Details
The operation was conducted by a special patrol team from BGB's Biyanibazar Battalion, led by Naik Md Alamgir Hossain, in collaboration with a patrol team from RAB-9, Sylhet, led by Sub-Inspector Md Ibrahim. The interception occurred on the paved road on the northern side of the Sreerampur Bypass in Golapganj upazila.
During the patrol, the team noticed a suspicious mini covered van. Upon signaling the vehicle to stop, the driver abandoned the van and fled. A thorough search of the vehicle led to the discovery of the illicit goods.
Value of Seized Items
The seized items included Indian Ponds Face Wash valued at Tk 844,800 and Clop-G Cream valued at Tk 937,500. Additionally, the abandoned mini covered van was estimated to be worth Tk 1,250,000. The total value of the seized goods amounts to Tk 3,032,300.
