Bangladesh Braces for Widespread Rain as BMD Forecasts Light to Moderate Showers

Rainfall is expected across various parts of Bangladesh over the next 24 hours.

Residents across Bangladesh should prepare for rain, as the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds over the next 24 hours. The rain is expected to start from 9:00 am today. According to the Met Office bulletin, significant rainfall is anticipated in several northern divisions.

The bulletin specifically predicts light to moderate rain or thundershowers in many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions, and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions. In addition, moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may occur in certain areas of Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions.

Temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country. The highest temperature recorded on Sunday was 35 degrees Celsius in Rangpur, while the lowest temperature today was 24.4 degrees Celsius in Sylhet and Bandarban. During the last 24 hours, Kutubdia recorded the highest rainfall of 81 millimeters.

The weather conditions are likely to affect daily activities, as the sun will set in Dhaka at 6:41 pm today and rise at 5:29 am tomorrow. Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and take necessary precautions to stay safe during the rainy period.
