The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain in different parts of the country within the next 24 hours starting from 9 am. Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are expected at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions. The forecast also indicates that moderately heavy to heavy falls may occur at various locations. Additionally, day and night temperatures may increase by 1-3 degrees Celsius across the country. The highest temperature on Monday was recorded at 32.6 degrees Celsius in Jashore, while the minimum temperature today is 23.5 degrees Celsius in Sylhet. In the past 24 hours, the highest rainfall of 110 millimetres was recorded in Cumilla. The sun will set at 6:49 pm today and rise at 5:20 am tomorrow in Dhaka.
The forecast of widespread rain comes as temperatures across the country are expected to rise. This change in weather could impact daily activities and agricultural practices, which are crucial for the nation's economy. Farmers may need to adjust their schedules to accommodate the anticipated rainfall, while urban areas might experience temporary disruptions due to potential flooding. The BMD's forecast serves as a crucial alert for both the general public and relevant authorities to prepare for the incoming weather conditions.
