A major gasoline reservoir in Zawiya, Libya, experienced a catastrophic fire and collapse on Monday, following an attack by unidentified individuals, according to authorities. The incident occurred at the second-largest oil refinery in the country, which has a refining capacity of 120,000 barrels per day. The reservoir, owned by Brega Oil Company and holding approximately 4.5 million litres of gasoline, was directly targeted, as confirmed by the National Oil Corporation (NOC).

Brega Oil Company and firefighters immediately responded to the fire, implementing cooling operations on adjacent tanks to prevent the fire from spreading.
