In a roundtable discussion organized by the Chittagong Hill Tracts Research Foundation, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed stressed that all individuals residing in Bangladesh share a common national identity: Bangladeshi. Ahmed highlighted that this shared identity is both geographical and constitutional, underscoring the country's commitment to unity and equality.
The minister's remarks came during his address as the chief guest at the event titled 'Indigenous Identity is Irrelevant for Bangladesh', held at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Gulshan. He pointed out that the Constitution ensures equal rights and opportunities for all, while the state is dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of ethnic and tribal communities.
