During a visit by Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen to the Water Resources Minister Md. Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee, the officials discussed potential areas of cooperation.

Water Resources Minister Anee emphasized the need for cooperation in exchanging knowledge and experience, education, technological cooperation, professional capacity development, and research. He noted that the two countries have a long-standing and robust friendship, which forms the basis for their collaborative efforts in water management.

Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen expressed China's interest in supporting Bangladesh in conserving water resources and maintaining environmental balance. He mentioned China's willingness to assist in tackling issues such as floods, droughts, waterlogging, and river erosion.
