On August 11, 2026, Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Administrator Nazrul Islam Manju commended Khulna Collegiate Girls’ School and KCC Women’s College as leading institutions in women’s education in the southwestern region. Manju highlighted the significant contributions these schools have made since their establishment.

Commitment to Quality Education

Speaking as the chief guest at an orientation program for first-year honors students, Manju expressed gratitude to former KCC mayor Sheikh Tayebur Rahman, the founder of the institutions. He credited Rahman’s efforts for establishing the model educational institution for women. Manju encouraged the new students to focus on their studies, develop their talents, and contribute to the country’s welfare.

He urged teachers to take on more responsibility in their teaching, maintain discipline, and help students become ideal citizens. Manju also stressed the importance of developing all educational institutions in the city to be models of quality education.

Program Details

The orientation program was chaired by Principal Prof Dr Md Shahidur Rahman. KCC Chief Engineer and school governing body member Mashiuzzaman Khan attended as a special guest. The welcome address was delivered by Dr Nasrin Nahar Begum, Head of the Department of Food and Nutritional Science.

Manju’s address emphasized the need for continuous improvement and excellence in educational institutions, underscoring the role of quality education in shaping future leaders.
