Seven more children have died from confirmed measles and measles-like symptoms in Bangladesh over the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). During the same period, 990 new infections were reported. Six children died exhibiting measles-like symptoms, while one child died after being confirmed to have measles.
Since March 15, a total of 671 children have died with measles-like symptoms, and 95 children have died from confirmed measles. The cumulative death toll from both confirmed measles and measles-like symptoms stands at 766 children.
The DGHS issued a press release detailing these figures, highlighting the ongoing severity of the measles outbreak in the country. The recent data underscores the urgent need for continued public health efforts to combat the spread of the disease.
