Five more children have died of confirmed measles and measles-like symptoms in Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). During the same period, 969 new measles and suspected measles cases were reported across the country.

Measles Outbreak Details

Of the new cases, 90 were confirmed measles cases while 879 were children with measles-like symptoms, a DGHS press release said today. Four children died from measles-like symptoms, while one child died of confirmed measles during the period.

Hospital Admissions and Recoveries

A total of 849 children were admitted to hospitals in the last 24 hours, while 843 recovered and were discharged after treatment. Since March 15, a total of 111,480 suspected measles cases and 13,500 confirmed measles cases have been recorded across the country.

Cumulative Statistics

During the period, 94,340 patients have been admitted to hospitals. Of them, 90,605 have recovered and been discharged after treatment. Since March 15, a total of 758 children have died from measles and measles-like symptoms across the country. Of them, 664 died with measles-like symptoms, while 94 died of confirmed measles.
