In a significant move to bolster women's education and empowerment, Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu emphasized the government's commitment to these critical areas. Speaking at an event in Lalmonirhat, Dulu noted that expanding educational opportunities for women is central to the government's strategy for sustainable national development.

Expanding Educational Opportunities

Dulu highlighted that the government is not only increasing access to education for women but also implementing various development programs across different departments to make them economically self-reliant. This includes initiatives to provide free education up to graduation and degree levels, a continuation of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia's legacy.

At the event, sewing machines, bicycles, ceiling fans, and sports equipment were distributed to support women's empowerment and employment. The government aims to improve women's living standards and ensure their active participation in the nation's progress. The distribution event, part of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) for the 2025-2026 fiscal year, included 80 bicycles for talented female students and various equipment for educational institutions and sports organizations.

Economic Empowerment and Sports Initiatives

The minister underscored that economic self-reliance is a cornerstone of the government's empowerment programs. These initiatives are designed to create a prosperous Bangladesh with equal participation from women. Additionally, sports programs at the village level are being organized to keep the youth engaged and deter them from drugs and crime.

The distribution event was attended by local officials, political leaders, and beneficiaries. The event signified the government's dedication to improving women's education and economic status, ensuring their significant role in the nation's future.
