Young Artists' Exhibition 'Bankmuhurt' at Aloki Convention Center Explores Decolonization

A group of young artists presents their vision of decolonization through unique artworks in the 'Bankmuhurt' exhibition.

'Bankmuhurt', an exhibition by young artists exploring the concept of decolonization, is currently underway at the Aloki Convention Center in Tejgaon, Dhaka. Organized by Shunyo Studio, the exhibition features 36 selected artworks from a workshop held last December. The event runs from June 5 to June 9, open daily from 3 PM to 9 PM.

Shunyo Studio's director, artist Zafar Iqbal, mentioned that the workshop, which took place at Shunyo Studio in Lalmatia, Dhaka, involved 20 young artists. The exhibition includes artworks created during this workshop, focusing on the theme of decolonization in the post-colonial era of Bangladesh.

Additional Events

On the final day of the exhibition, June 9, there will be a discussion titled 'Contemporary Art and the Living Scope of Art' led by artist Mustafa Zaman, featuring artists Parsa Sanjana and Arup Rahi. Additionally, free photo printing will be available from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, organized by Cholonttika Bhramyaman Studio.

Another exhibition, 'Hajaroo Golpo', featuring 55 artworks by 27 young artists, will commence on June 9 at Safiuddin Shilpaloy in Dhanmondi, running until June 15. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 5 PM, and the exhibition will be open to the public from 11 AM to 8 PM.
