A school teacher was tragically killed after being run over by a bus in the Dayaler Mor area of Naogaon district town this morning. The deceased has been identified as A.T.M. Yusuf, 45, a resident of Hajipara in Jagatsinghpur area of the town and a teacher at Joypurhat Technical School and College.

The accident occurred around 8 am when Yusuf's motorcycle collided head-on with a battery-run autorickshaw, causing him to lose control and fall onto the road. At that moment, a speeding Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) bus traveling from Baludanga Bus Stand toward Muktir Mor ran over him. He was crushed under the bus and died on the spot.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Asaduzzaman of Naogaon Sadar Police Station confirmed the fatal road accident and stated that necessary legal procedures would be carried out. The exact cause of the collision with the autorickshaw remains under investigation.

Road accidents are a significant concern in Bangladesh, often resulting from a combination of factors including speeding, lack of road safety measures, and inadequate vehicle maintenance. This tragic incident underscores the urgent need for improved road safety protocols and public awareness campaigns to prevent such fatalities in the future.
