Chief Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury today administered the oath to Justice Md Habibul Gani, marking his appointment as a judge of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court. The ceremony, conducted by Registrar General Mohammad Habibur Rahman Siddiquee, took place at the Supreme Court Judges' Lounge this morning. President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir appointed Justice Gani on August 27, 2026, in accordance with Article 95(1) of the Constitution. Justice Md Habibul Gani was born on May 31, 1962, and holds MSS and LLB degrees from the University of Chittagong. He was enrolled as an advocate of the High Court Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court on April 11, 1992. His judicial career saw him elevated as an Additional Judge of the High Court Division on April 18, 2010, and subsequently appointed as a Judge of the same Division on April 15, 2012.
