On August 6, 2026, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, wife of the Prime Minister, honored her father, Rear Admiral Mahbub Ali Khan, on the 42nd anniversary of his passing. She visited his grave at Banani Military Cemetery in Dhaka, accompanied by her sister Shahina Khan Zaman and her daughter Zaima Rahman.
A floral tribute was laid at the grave, and a complete recitation of the Holy Quran, prayers, and special munajat were conducted to seek forgiveness for his soul. Rear Admiral Mahbub Ali Khan, who served as the Chief of Naval Staff of the Bangladesh Navy and later in the cabinet of President Ziaur Rahman's government, passed away on August 6, 1984.
