The meeting, organised by the upazila administration, took place at the Upazila Parishad auditorium at 10:30am, chaired by Upazila Executive Officer Sumona Airin. Bagerhat-1 constituency MP Md Mashiur Rahman Khan attended as the chief guest. Officials from various government departments, law enforcement agencies, political and social organisations, and local journalists and community leaders participated in the meeting.

Concerns Raised

Speakers expressed concern over petty crimes, traffic congestion, child marriage, drug abuse, and social degradation in different parts of the upazila. They stressed the need for coordinated efforts by the administration, law enforcement agencies, public representatives, political and social organisations, and citizens to address these problems.

Calls for Cooperation

Mashiur Rahman Khan highlighted that ensuring public security and building a peaceful society are key government commitments. He called for stronger cooperation among the administration, law enforcement agencies, public representatives, and citizens to improve the law and order situation. He also urged all stakeholders to work together to make Mollahat free from drugs, terrorism, and crime.

Collective Responsibility

Sumona Airin emphasised that maintaining law and order is a collective responsibility, not one that rests solely with the administration.
